FEB 7, 2005 - New pic's today. The radiator is in, along with the alternator, power steering pump and the steering box. Both rebuilt by Durex in El Monte, CA.

Below is the power steering pump

Just below the exhaust manifold you can see the rebuilt steering box

Another view of the radiator

Here are some pic's of the suspension components and the K frame

And last but not least is the transmission waiting to be put in, hopefully this week

APR 21, 2005 - Ok, no new pic's but wanted to update anyone who regularly checks out this site. The car has been out of my engine guys shop for about a month. I'm storing it at my buddies tow yard in a warehouse under one of those custom car covers. My buddy who restores El Camino's is helping me put the fuel neck, new gas tank, brake lines and fuel lines. We attempted to get at it last Saturday but the lift died so we will get back on it probably the first Sat of May.
I've received the restored calipers back, they look beautiful and will post pic's of those soon. I tore apart the heater box and sent the metal to get sandblasted and powdercoated while I cleaned and painted the fiberglass box. Will be putting it back together next week. I've also cleaned and polished the taillights. Plus I sent the bumpers out to get rechromed. They look awesome, I took some pictures but they didn't really show how good they look so I will reshoot them. I have the guy who does Chip Foose's chroming do it, Vern's Plating in Gardena, CA. I also sent out the correct carb to get rebuilt by RaceKrafters in PA.
After we finish all the fuel and brake stuff then the car is off to get wired front to back. After thats it's to the interior.
So, will have a bunch of new pic's soon and will keep you updated. I'm getting damn impatient.
MAY 7, 2005 - A few new pic's. Got the seats upholstered. Westminster Auto Upholstery did them, he is the same guy that doesn Chip Foose's stuff.

This coming Saturday we should start on the brake and fuel stuff. The drive shaft is at the powdercoaters now and I just got the headlight door actuators back from powdercoat. Will post those pic's soon.
JUNE 18, 2005 - We put the restored calipers on, plus did the fuel lines, put in the new tank, and started on the brake lines. Ran into a few problems tho....I will get to that in a few minutes:

New tank

The new fuel lines leading up to the sender unit in the tank.

Those same lines running along the passenger side near the rear tire. They then run alongside the car as pictured below

Then we have the rear brake line coming from the rear axle T and then runs alongside the drivers side

It then runs alongside the car up to this point near the front of the car

That line you see comes up to where there seems to some holes to screw in a valve of some sort. I have the proportioning valve that my buddy is holding in the correct place. The two lines come from the master cylinder directly above where the hand is and goes into the valve pictured. But this rear line is not long enough to reach this valve. Gotta figure out what valve this rear line screws into, the line set came with another 9-12" line that appears to go from this valve into the proportioning valve.
We got the fuel neck in plus the fuel cap

I'll take a better pic of the cap later when we have some light.
So now it's on to the guy who will wire the car front to back. After that it goes back to the bodyshop to get a few bubbles that have appeared on the trunklid fixed. After that it goes to get the interior put in and finally off to get the rest of the brake lines installed and get the engine running.
Man this is taking so freakin long.
AUGUST 4, 2005 - We have worked on the car the past few weekends, putting in the dash and also getting the Metering Valve put in along with the Proportioning Valve. I forgot my camera so I took a few pic's with a disposable camera which look horrible

But better then nothing. Will update soon with much better pictures. We took the car to Eric at Advanced Design Fabrications in Whittier who will be wiring the car from front to back. He hopes to have it done next week. After that I need to get the side windows in, which are currently getting polished, and then off to get the interior put in.
