I highly recommend Sammy for any classic car restoration you have going. If they can't get a piece for your car they will fabricate it. The guys there are simple miracle workers when it comes to old Detriot steel. You can reach them at 626-286-1083 and their address is 843 Commercial Ave, San Gabriel, CA 91776.
Now it's back to Gage Auto to have the wheel wells put in, get a scratch fixed on the rear quarterpanel, put the rear R/T emblem into the rear tailpanel, and put the rest of the chrome molding on such as the driprail, the rocker panel. They also have to put the weatherstriping on the front windows. After that its to the interior shop to get the headrests, seatbelts, and inner door handles installed. After that it's done!
MAR 13TH, 2007 - Yes, yes, it's been awhile since I updated but not a whole lot going on behind the scenes until today. Finally got a spot in at Gage Auto and dropped the girl off to get all that stuff I mentioned up above done. I've found that there is a leak in the brake system since when I started in reverse get the girl out of the warehouse the brakes didn't work. Wow, talk about a scary moment. I slammed it into park, which is hard in itself since the shifter is very mushy. Maloof will be fixing that soon enough. Plus thank god I had the emergency brake installed by Maloof, stopped the car very quickly.
Anyways, I opened up the master cylinder and the large reservoir was dry. Filled it back up and the brakes worked great.
Loaded the girl up and dropped her off. I took this picture with my cell phone so not sure how good it looks:
Getting there, bit by bit. I'm hoping by the Fall Fling I will have it completely ready for it's first show.
JULY 8TH, 2007 - In a few months it will be 4 years since I first found this girl and started this journey. Friggin 4 years!
Well, I'm sure your wondering whats been going on over the last few months. It's at Gage Auto right now, and the rocker chrome has been put on, the wheel well chrome has been put on, all the locks have been installed, and they've taken off the stripe on the passenger side to fix the damage done by one of my buddies workers when he scratched it. Of course he's paying for it and it wasn't a huge amount of damage but needed to be fixed. I've ordered the antennae, window felts for the vent window, the RT emblem for the grill, and I found this door mechanism for the inside door handles via Moparts.com.
Still needing to be done is to install all that above, plus remember the pictures of the newly fixed and painted grill? Well a bubble inside the paint formed in the area of the center I piece. So that needs to be fixed. Also, I've been trying to figure out what goes into the front wheel wells since it just doesn't look right.

NOVEMBER 10TH, 2007 - Yes yes, been awhile since I updated but nothing new to report over that time. Getting worked on at Gage and I finally picked it up yesterday. Only a bit more to do. It goes back to Maloof to get a leak in drivers side caliper fixed, get the shifter rechromed, get the engine dyno'd and tuned. Also, there is a short in the electrical somewhere since the drivers side parking light is real dim. Then off to Westminster for the interior which includes Headrests and seatbelts installed, console carpet kit installed, glove box installed.
