Plus, most of this restoration is being done by other's but I decided to tackle the Grille myself....here are some before pic's....I will update with my progress as I go along.

The center section of the grill is broken. The guy I bought the car from included a replacement middle section as you can see above. The one above the grille is the replacement.

MAR 3, 2004 - Received my order from Galen Govier today. Put the window sticker on the front page as you have already seen. Had him make up a new fender tag also, unfortunately he messed up. The build date on the original is 116 (Jan 16, 1969), the new one has 115 instead. Took 4 months to get this order here and thats with a rush order, not looking forward to waiting again to get this fixed.

Old one....hard to see but its the 2nd line from bottom, 2nd group of numbers from the left.....116

New one....same place, but now its 115.....argh! Below is the Chrysler Registry document stating that my car has been entered into the Registry.

MAR 12, 2004 - Went to my mechanic yesterday and took some pictures of the engine. Its pretty much done as you can see.

In other news I received a estimate from Snake Oyl on restoring my seat belts. $815 with shipping....little more then expected.
MAR 15, 2004 - Have a few pic's of the Grille progress. So far I've cleaned and sanded, then applied a coat of Bulldog Adhesion Promoter which helps the paint stick to plastic. Then I applied a coat of SEM High Build Primer Surfacer which provide superior adhesion to plastic. I've primed everything did one coat of satin black on one of the headlight doors and one coat of the argent silver on right edge of the grille. You can get the paint from Totally Auto

MAR 26, 2004 - Delivered the car to the restoration shop, Gage Auto, that is known for its restorations. They will be doing the rest of the body work such as making all the lines of the car perfectly straight, getting all the little waves out of the metal, applyinjg the filler, making sure the doors, trunk, hood, glass, is all aligned perfectly with the new weatherstripping. Then they will be doing the show quality paint job, undercoat on the undercarriage, applying Zolotone to the interior of the car. Cost? Estimate is 8500 bucks. Not cheap, but not bad for a show quality job either. Here are some pic's of us delivering her.

APR 2, 2004 - Received the exhaust manifolds back from Jet Hot Coating where they ceramic coated them. Now they should last for years without rusting.
Also picked up my brake booster and master cylinder from getting powdercoated. Looks great but I think the cylinder needs to be a darker grey to give it that cast iron look, probably have to go back and get it redone. I had the cover cadmium plated but that just made all the divits show where the old rust had eated it thru. Gonna have to find a good replacement.
